The Miracles of 2020
As the year comes to a close, many people around the world will choose to bid an impassioned goodbye to 2020, a year seemingly defined by global turbulence, uncertainty, polarization, isolation, and deep personal loss. We mourn the loss of life in our families and more than 2 million souls around the world. We mourn the erosion of our optimism, simple joy, and daily gratitude.
Yet the amongst most tragic circumstances the striking compassion of humanity touches us deeply, lifts our souls and motivates heroic commitment to change, solutions and discovery.
So, alternatively we can choose to define and celebrate 2020 an historic year of achievement, innovation, and progress for the humanity of mother earth, specifically in the face of the COVID-19 global pandemic pushing us to innovate.
This year will be ranked among Top 10 in human history for the innovations that have occurred during your lifetime. 2020 is truly one of these historic moments that has happened during your life.
Never ever before, have scientists been able to develop a vaccine that can save the lives of 8 billion people in 10 months. This heroic dedication is further punctuated by the near miracle that that over the course of the next 9 months, the vaccine will be distributed, processed and available to the population of the entire world. Just as a point of reference which in no way diminishes the values of these life altering breakthroughs, the Polio vaccine took 25 years to develop and the seasonal influenza vaccine took 12 years.
The historic achievements of 2020 would not have been possible without the compassionate determination of the heroes who made it happen.
Thank you to all the scientists who, since 1961 have continued, despite enormous skepticism, to clear the hurdles in pursuit of their dream to utilize mRNA vaccine technology which ultimately, in 2020, provided the platform which made the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine a reality.
This truly underscores the value of adequately funding research and development.
Thank you to all the technologist whose computer automated processes and data gathering empowered validation of the COVID-19 Vaccine.
This truly underscores the value of universities, mobility, software, and silicon advancement.
Thank you to the transportation system, Internet of Things (IoT), and broadband system that is working with the excellence and accuracy of a swiss watch and speed of light to distribute valuable information about the Covid-19 Vaccine.
This truly underscores the global innovations of standards that have been developed since late 1970’s for ubiquitous connectivity.
Thanks to the unwavering dedication and compassion of the front line doctors, nurses, EMT, police, caregivers, and hospitals who are ready to administer the vaccination starting today and continuing over the next 9 months.
This truly underscores the commitment to humanity on a scale we have rarely had the need to experience.
Thanks to each one of you who have continued to demonstrate unyielding positivity and spreading good vibes every day to everyone especially in the face of the challenges during this unprecedent year.
All of you truly underscore the importance of history as future generations look back on 2020 and learn about you, the heroes who rescued the humanity of planet earth with a seemingly impossible grace and pace.
Each individual contributes to the creation of a world which is better for the next generations by keeping and promoting a positive outlook, doing the right thing for you, your partner and your family and working hard for the planet earth and all of its people.
